On December 4, 2024, the RISHI Foundation team had the opportunity to engage with Ms. Uma Mahadevan, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to the Government and Development Commissioner. The meeting provided a valuable platform to present the Foundation’s initiatives and their impact on youth—particularly in the domains of education, health, and social empowerment.
A key focus of the discussion was the role of social entitlements and government welfare schemes in supporting young people, especially those from vulnerable communities. The conversation underscored both the benefits of these programs and the challenges youth face in accessing them. The need for increased awareness, improved accessibility, and stronger policy advocacy was emphasized to ensure broader and more effective reach.
Following this engagement, RISHI Foundation conducted a Social Entitlement Survey to assess awareness and utilization of government schemes among young individuals. A total of 561 participants took part in the survey, and data analysis is currently underway. The findings will offer critical insights into gaps in service delivery and help identify areas requiring further support and targeted advocacy.
